The JobsStar jobs and careers show is being staged today and tomorrow in the Dean Square and Wrekin Square areas of the shopping complex. It has been organised by the Shropshire Star’s recruitment advertising team, based at Ketley.

Sally Evans, who heads up the Star’s classified advertising department, said: “The event is aimed at all age and skill levels, and the range of exhibitors reflect this. They are offering a wide array of opportunities in a diverse array of sectors.”

Among the exhibitors are Telford College of Arts and Technology, which is offering information on courses, apprenticeships and enrolment sessions, and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin which has information on a wide range of job opportunities.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service also has an exhibition stand, along with the County Training division of Shropshire County Council, while several recruitment agencies are represented including Extra Personnel and TCS Recruitment.

Sally Evans added: “We are also offering a new service this year on our Shropshire Star stand called the ‘application service’. This is especially for companies who can’t attend the event themselves but have given us permission to hand out their application forms and job packs.”

* The JobsStar show is open until 6pm today and from 9am to 6pm tomorrow.
