Shropshire could see some snow today as a cold snap hits Britain, but forecasters claim it will be a one-day wonder.
Shropshire Star weatherman John Warner said the only risk of snow for the county is today.
He said: “Any snow should have gone by midnight, but there may be snow lying on the ground.
“Snow showers are likely to fall in the evening but tomorrow will be cold and sunny with no snow.
“Shropshire Hills stand a greater chance of getting snow.”
Forecasters say snow and sleet will fall on Scotland and Northern Irela- nd, moving into Cumbria and north-west England.

Better get those schools shut
Are the schools going to close again on the off chance of snow??
Close the schools quick!!
Is John Warner a weatherman or a comedian?
“Any snow should have gone by midnight, but there may be snow lying on the ground.
Er…what?!!!
John Warner is obviously trying to become a comedian coming out with statement like that.
Let’s hope he is a better comedian than a weather forecaster.
