Where was picture was taken?

“GPO Engineer Stanley (photo by Rowland Hill).”

This picture is in an album in the ownership of Mrs Grace Edwards of Wellington, and shows her father Stan Davies who was a GPO engineer.

The caption in the album reads: “GPO Engineer Stanley (photo by Rowland Hill).”

The location and date are unknown, although it’s probably in Shropshire. Anyone have any ideas?

Mr Davies is obviously studying something - perhaps his instructions, a map, or maybe he’s just on a break and is reading the paper.

    It would be helpful if Mrs Edwards could supply more information.ie Which depot was her Dad based at, which area did he cover? Shropshire is a large County! A shot in the dark would be, especially if based in Wellington, would be that he is off a minor road adjoining the A5 between Wellington/Shrewsbury.The Wroxeter straight possibly.
