Warmer weather on way

A blanket of thick fog made driving conditions difficult for early morning commuters across much of Shropshire and Mid Wales today.

But weather experts said spring-like temperatures are around the corner.

Shropshire Star weatherman, John Warner, said freezing fog could vary from place to place within the county and may be back again tonight.

He said: “It shouldn’t be as bad tonight and afterwards the weather will become much milder.”

Meanwhile tomorrow’s race meeting at Ludlow has been abandoned because of the current cold snap.

I’m sorry, but I switched off as soon as I read the words ‘John Warner’.
This bloke hasn’t got a clue. I read round about new year that he was telling us we were going to have temperatures of minus 17 in January. Turned out to be the mildest for years.
He seems to make a living out of guessing the weather.
Nice work I suppose - if you can get it.

Unfortunately all weather forcasters are the same, spout a load of drivel then look out the window and change their minds again, I haven’t taken a weather forcaster seriously for years. I remember once reading that they admitted they were only right 40% of the time..that means they are wrong more than right, they would get better forcasts if they told us the opposite to what they thought was going to happen. What a job, you can be wrong more often than right and not get sacked…sounds like politicians

spi1970 - I logged on to make exactly the same comment. Think warner must still use pinecones and seaweed. Plenty of free forcasts available on line shropshire star - think its time you let mr warner go for a lie down.
