The family of a Shropshire teenager who died eight days after he was left seriously injured in a car accident today paid tribute to their “beautiful son”.
Brandon Spille, 19, suffered severe head injuries when his car struck a tree after leaving the road at Wentnor, on January 27. He died in the University Hospital, Coventry, on Monday.
Brandon, who lived with his parents in Upper Overs, Bridges, Ratlinghope, near Bishop’s Castle, was driving his black Volkswagen Polo on an unclassified road. Two passengers were also injured.
His parents Manfred and Julie Spille today told of their overwhelming sense of loss. The couple, who also have a 21-year-old daughter called Carmen, said: “We are all devastated.
“Brandon was a beautiful boy who will be loved and missed forever by us and his many friends.
“He always had a sparkle in his eyes and a cheeky smile and tried to live life to the full. Brandon loved having fun with his friends.”
The family, who were at his hospital bedside in Coventry, agreed Brandon’s organs should be offered for transplant to help others.
Mr and Mrs Spille said their son’s hobbies included martial arts, music mixing, fixing cars, fishing and shooting.
He worked for a tractor company Tom Price in Bishop’s Castle and his future plans included finishing his welding course at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology and sailing on the Mediterranean Sea.
The Spilles said they wished to thank “amazing” hospital staff in Shrewsbury and Coventry, and everyone else for their support.
An inquest was due to be opened in Shrewsbury today.
Brandon’s funeral will be held at Shrewsbury Crematorium on February 15, at 4pm.
