It may not be a West End show but ticket touts have put much sought after tickets for a Shropshire village pantomime up for sale on auction website eBay.
The Pontesbury Players are performing Robin Hood and The Carbon Footprint at the village’s Public Hall between January 23 and 26.
Chairman Nick Hignett said although ticket sales were going well, he was surprised to see the two tickets for the final show on eBay.
People have until Tuesday (January 22) to bid for the tickets. Currently two bids have been made, the highest at 25p.
The seller states: “This is sure to be a sold-out performance so take this one-off chance to get hold of two tickets for what is sure to be the years hottest production (at Pontesbury Public Hall anyway).
“Tickets will be presented to the winning bidder on the night of the final performance, with a special gift.”
The seller also says proceeds from the auction will be donated to the charity of the winning bidder’s choice.
Mr Hignett said: “I do not know who has put them on the site. I do not agree with ticket touting and think they should be sold through regular outlets.
“I did not realise the Pontesbury Players were held in such high esteem. In a way, it’s a compliment. Tickets are certainly in demand.”

Having read the full article i would not say it is ticket touting on a large scale.
The Pontesbury Players have obviously worked very hard to produce two pantomimes and they deserve to be encouraged. e-bay having an offer of 25p is not the way to go, about selling tickets.
