RAF staff in jobs protest

Civil servants from RAF Cosford today joined colleagues from around the country to protest outside Ministry of Defence headquarters in London.

Wearing “We Are Not For Sale” badges, they are unhappy about a shake-up in defence training which will see it taken over by a private consortium.

Hundreds of staff will be told to move to South Wales and their jobs will be privatised. The Public and Commercial Services Union claims the plan will threaten front-line troops.

    A decision made by the Goverment purely to appease investment in South Wales with little or no regard to the staff of Cosford.

    People working in the private sector have had to put up with closures and redundacies for years
    Working for the government does not
    mean you have a job for life
