Pupils in nativity at last

Children at a Mid Wales school will prove the show must go on tomorrow when they perform their nativity, nearly a month late.

The youngsters from Llanfihangel School were due to stage the play before Christmas.

But nearly half of the cast went down with a virus and were off ill, meaning head Eirwen Jones had to cancel.

The children, who had worked hard to learn their lines, were so disappoin- ted it was decided to put on the event in January.

Now the nativity - with a modern twist - will be staged at Llanfihangel Village Hall tomorrow at 7pm.

“The children have responded very well,” Mrs Jones said.

“We thought they may have forgotten their lines over Christmas but they came back after the holidays as keen as ever to take part in the evening.”

Llanfihangel School, which has 12 pupils, is being recommended for closure.
