A young meerkat called Stitch has been causing a stir at Becks Bird Farm near Crudgington after being adopted by staff.

The newborn creature was rejected by his family group shortly after birth and now makes regular appearances with members of staff.

From tussles with puppies to trips to the hairdressers, young Stitch is certainly making his mark on local people - take a look for yourself.

Stitch has also made his television debut on the Richard and Judy show.

Anna Bradbury, 22, livestock assistant at Becks, said she had seen her role change since our story was printed.”We took him down for filming in London yesterday in the car. He slept most of the way, snuggled into his blanket.

“Britain’s Got Talent are even interested in him and a couple of magazines. It seems like I’ve suddenly turned into his agent.”
