A single goal in the 52nd minute was enough to consign Shrewbury Town to a home defeat against Brentford.
Karleigh Osborne grabbed the winner from a corner to mark manager Andy Scott’s first game in permanent charge with a victory.

i was not there, but losing at home to brentford is unacceptable, i have been supportive of management so far but even my patience is being severely tested.
auto promotion is out of the question, the play offs seem remote and we are not good enough to survive in league 1 anyway. my prediction last week was that we would finish in 12th position, i now wish to amend it to 15th
so come on gp sort it out asap or else
Rubbish!!!
I actually stayed and watched this pathetic performance from beginning to end. The Team were woeful in all areas from front to back; they couldn’t keep possession, had little confidence and played aimless balls hoofed to no one in particular. It’s anybody’e guess as to what formation is being played these days, let alone the overall tactics and it shows in the players complete loss of form.
Talk of new striker amazes me as it’s a new set of coaching staff that’s desperately needed before a relegation battle looms.
Absolutely gutted. I watched the match at the new stadium. Voted for Ben Herd as man of the match.
Absolutely appalling from Town… it was most certainly NOT a pleasure to watch! Peters needs to sort things out pretty soon otherwise he should expect to see a P45 on his desk.
Oh Dear, he will have to go.
I’ between two chairs, should I support Town or The Bees when I come watch Town at Griffin Park ?
I have a bad feeling alike the days when where in the basement under Ratcliffe and finally dropped down.
Well I guess I will always support Town, even if they dropped down to Ryman League.
awful
missed drummond, new midfielder was poor, going backwards at an alarming rate.
new manager needed
Peter’s has shown the door to Drummond. Why does he not follow. The only thing he is achieving is to take us back to the Conference.
what awonderful start to the new year 3 deafeats in arow each performance worse than the one before we need a new man in charge with soom new ideas idont think i will be making the 300 mile round trip to hereford from yorkshire now they have got a manager and peters says hes the best we have ever had i dont think so
Where do they go from here? If they play like that for the rest of the season then it’ll be The Blue Square Premier.
Yeah its strange to see our team perform so badly, its now 7 losses in the last 10 games. Not even close to good enough, and perhaps its is time to make some changes in the management, meaning Peters. I am no longer sure that he is the right man for us. He has brough us far, but seems unable to bring us further….
I still think GPs the man for the job.Hes brought in some good young talent who have come together well.
Its the tactics that are wrong and by that I dont mean formations and substitutions I mean the way that corners are defended and the opposition is attacked etc. This points to coaching rather than management.I think GPs got to be strong here and get rid of the coaching staff he has or they will eventually lose him his job.Get Leroy back from Gretna whatever it takes.
It was horrible. We had 3 sections of fans kicking off with each other in the South Stand close to full time. I brought my mate with me who is not even a footy fan let alone a town fan. Suffice to say that was the first and last time he goes to the New Meadow….
Agreed it was poor. Don’t agree re talk of Peters going. Take a look at the clubs which have chopped and changed managers and they invariably struggle to maintain any kind of forwards momentum over a period of time.
A new manager now would want to bring in his own players, this would take time, almost certainly it would lead to a couple of seasons of change and probably no fast climb up the league(s). There are no quick fixes to this situation.
I think far more important is what Peters does next. I agree he needs to ditch the formation we’ve been playing, and strengthen the squad (especially in midfield) but with no serious threat of relegation this year (seriously guys, just look at the table) he should and will be given a chance to sort this out.
After all it is only 7 months since he got us to the playoff final (which people seem to love to take away from him with comments like, ‘well yeah but we weren’t playing that well’ or ‘yeah but it wasn’t because of Peters’ or ‘well we were lucky’ - give me a break, if it’s his fault when things are going badly it’s significantly down to him when things are going well)
Good to see STFC found a use for 11 of the traffic cones that wern’t needed on Saturday….
Didnt see any trouble in the south stand before, after or whilst the game was being played. I think most people were watching the bad peformance not arguing??
Mr Peters MUST realise that when he plays defenders in midfield, although they can tackle they cannot pass the ball - therefore we cannot get decent ball to the forwards from them.
Please get Pugh back in the team - and why oh why did he get rid of the class act that was Drummond, and replace him with a player that was hiding from the ball for most of the game.
To let Edwards, Asamoah, Drummond go without replacing them borders on incompetence.
Then to rely on bit part defenders to become playmakers in central midfield borders on lunacy.
To think the answer is one ageing 4th division striker borders on desperation.
Anyone finding the plot please return it to The New Meadow addressed to Mr G Peters.
Not good enough.
if we need a 33yr old striker how about roy of the rovers, i think he is 79 next birthday. i remember buying the lion comic in the early fifties in which he featured. come on gp i reckon you have 6 or 7 games left to sort it out. by the way roy says floreat salopia.

Sadly there was mate, I was quite high up behind the goal and 3 sections of people in Stand 10 were kicking off with each other due to people’s different opinion on Peters and how they were conducting themselves. Some for, some against. It was about 5 mins towards full time.
