Power loss hits 3,619

More than 3,000 properties in Telford were left without power this afternoon following an underground fault.

Electricity to 3,619 homes and businesses in Muxton and Donnington went shortly before 2pm today.

Engineers found an underground cable fault. Central Networks engineers managed to get power back to more than 200 customers within 20 minutes but 3,400 remained without power.

Deanna Mooney, spokeswoman for Central Networks, said engineers were trying to switch customers to other networks to regain the power and apologised for the inconvenience.
