£12m floor bid by Asda

Work on a multi-million pound development to create an extra floor at a Telford supermarket is to start in the New Year. A mezzanine area will be installed at Donnington Wood’s Asda branch in a £12 million scheme.

Installation of a lift and a travellator allowing customers to access the new floor will start on January 7.

The work is expected to take between 24 and 30 weeks with the mezzanine hopefully to be unveiled in June. Spokesman David Simmons said the mezzanine would offer customers a “greater range of products”, including clothing, homeware and electrical goods.

Great, even more hold ups at the one entrance / exit they have.

Not enough parking space, lets hope theirs not an emergency when all this extra traffic starts.

who would allow a development like this with only one way in and one way out.

I think you’ll find Bobbin’s that there is planning permission for new traffic lights, road layout, another entrance/exit and more car parking space on a extra level and paid for and maintained by Asda.
