THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED -Have you ever dreamed of flying to the other side of the world to visit a distant relative, meet up with a long-lost friend, or simply spoil yourself on the holiday of a lifetime?
Most of us have . . . even though we know it’s unlikely to come true.
But all that is about to change for one lucky Shropshire Star reader, who could be in line for a magical journey they will never forget.
We’ve teamed up with Birmingham International Airport and its partner airlines and tour operators to launch our Take Off on a Dream Come True competition.
It’s your chance to turn that once-in-a-lifetime dream into an amazing reality.
The airport flies direct to more than 120 destinations – with access to hundreds more through connecting hubs. It is the Midlands’ gateway to Europe, the Americas, the Far East and beyond.
Our lucky winner will get their pick of the Birmingham departure board . . . a chance to choose where they would like to jet off to, anywhere in the world, on a package for two people worth up to £5,000.
Such a special trip deserves a special winner. So we want you to tell us why you – or perhaps a friend or relative – deserve this amazing opportunity.
Is there someone whose good deeds go unrewarded? Or a person close to you who has had a difficult year and simply deserves a treat?
Maybe there is somewhere you have made it your life’s ambition to visit, but have never had the chance. Or you know someone, perhaps an old colleague, war comrade or long-lost family member, who lives far away and who you would love to meet up with again.
Your stories will be judged by representatives from the Shropshire Star and Birmingham International Airport, who will award the top prize to the nominee who, in their opinion, most deserves to see their dream come true.
The winner will be provided with two return tickets and spending money to cover accommodation and other treats to make their trip truly memorable, up to a maximum value of £5,000. They will be flown to their destination either directly or via a connection at another hub airport.
If the total value of the package chosen by the winner comes to less than £5,000, no cash equivalent is available to make up the difference.
So put your thinking caps on, and start writing. Ready to take you on a trip you will never forget are a host of top airlines who operate out of Birmingham, which is the sixth largest airport in the UK, handling more than nine million passengers a year.
