Wolves winger Michael Kightly has told Serie A side Torino not to bother launching a January transfer bid for him.The top flight Italian side are the latest team to register an interest in the highly-coveted England under-21 winger and are set to test Wolves’ resolve with a £2m bid in the transfer window.
But Kightly is set to snub a move to Serie A and stick with Mick McCarthy1s men - because he wants to help lead them into the Premiership this season.
It is not the first time Kightly has been linked with a switch to Italian football. The 21-year-old was on the verge of a switch to Italian football with then Serie B side Empoli before he joined Wolves.
“I heard about it yesterday,” he admitted.
“I seem to be getting linked with a few clubs and to be linked with a big side in Serie A is a big compliment. It means I must have been doing something right.
“But I don’t want to move on - I’m absolutely committed to playing for Wolves. I love it here and I want to get them promoted into the Premiership.”
Meanwhile Kightly is struggling to make Saturday’s trip to QPR after suffering a training ground setback yesterday.
The much-missed Kightly has been ruled out since the Black Country derby with ligament damage but had been hopeful of returning ahead of schedule.
“I did a bit of running to test the ankle on Monday and it didn’t go as well as I’d hoped,” he admitted.
“I know I need to train before I play but it is still a bit sore. Running on it is not too bad but I was trying to take a ball with it and it’s too weak to do it at the moment.
“I was hopeful of making it back for the QPR game but I think I will be struggling.”
Kightly is now refusing to put a timescale on his comeback - although he is hopeful od playing over the busy festive period.
Meanwhile, Wolves’ January transfer plans triggered more speculation today as Steffen Iversen was linked with a shock return to Molineux.Iversen’s Norweigan club Rosenberg today confirmed Wolves have made an initial enquiry about bringing the 31-year-old international striker back to Molineux on loan.
But Molineux sources today played down a move for the Norweigan international - insisting he is not a priority target when the window opens.

Im sure some people will be horrified at the thought of Sick Note Iversen coming back, however I think if he can stay fit he is just the kind of player we need up front to hold the ball up/flick on and he can finish. He has scored a few in the CL in the last few weeks.
He will cost more then 2 million quid, but he aint going no where !
