Today we launch the search for Shropshire’s next “face of the future” who will be named as the Face of Telford Shopping Centre 2008.
The Shropshire Star has teamed up with the centre to find the region’s own Lily Cole or Erin O’Connor - someone with stunning looks and a personality to match.
The competition was launched last year and we received more than 100 entries.
Laura Lynn from Broseley was eventually named as our winner.
The Shropshire Star will again be featuring the finalists in a glamorous evening wear photo shoot in December when they will get to try out some of the High Street’s most fabulous frocks. The day will also include a makeover with leading stylists from Toni & Guy at Telford Shopping Centre.
Our judging panel this year includes former Miss UK, Suzanne Younger.
The Face of Telford Shopping Centre will walk off with the gorgeous frock she models on the day of the photoshoot as part her prize.
She will also be the model used for our main fashion feature in the Shropshire Star bridal supplement in January and will cut the ribbon to officially open the Telford Wedding Exhibition on January 14.
As part of her reigning year she will make public appearances at a minimum of four events at Telford Shopping Centre in 2008 and will write the centre’s fashion blog on its website.
This is potentially the first step on the ladder to a modelling career and an opportunity for our winner to show that she has what it takes to cut it on the catwalk.
HOW TO ENTER
To be in with a chance of being named the Face of Telford Shopping Centre 2008 please write to tell us in no more than 400 words why you could be the next Erin O’Connor.

Your entries must reach us by no later than first post on Thursday, December 6.
Candidates must:
- Be available on Friday December 14 and Friday January 4 for photoshoots.
- Be available on January 14 to officially open the Telford Wedding Exhibition.
- Be aged 16 years or over.
- Agree to participate in future publicity for both the Shropshire Star and Telford Shopping Centre.
- Finalists will be notified on Friday, December 7.
