In the Front Row

A charity fashion show held in Shrewsbury to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer was hailed a major success by organiser and guests.

With champagne, oysters, dancing cancan girls and sumptuous beach wear, lingerie and jewellery what was there not to like about the Parisian-themed fashion show held at the Prince Rupert Hotel.

Organiser Vicki Owen, who owns Mystique in Butcher Row and La Plage in Fish Street, presented a spectacular show of beach wear, lingerie and nightwear to a packed audience. Two performances from ‘Spotlight’ can can dancers added extra glitz and glamour to the event.

The five gorgeous models put on a professional cat walk display of the sumptuous beach wear from designers such as Gottex, Gideon, Melissa Odabash and Storm in a D Cup.

My favourites were a Melissa Odabash chocolate swimsuit - plain but stunning - and a beautiful Papillon Bleu Salina pink Kaftan which could be worn over a pair of linen trousers to take you into the evening. All items are available at La Plage, one of the few specialist retailers in the country offering swimwear all year round, which stocks sizes 8 to 24, from A to H cups.

Mystique is well known for its exquisite lingerie and the show did not disappoint. Designers such as Marie Jo, Prima Donna, Lise Charmel, Aubade and Christies featured along with sumptuous silk nightgowns and robes from Vivis.

Gems and jewellery on the night were provided by event sponsors, Fabricius Green on Shrewsbury High Street.
