An adventurous moggy found in the back of a beer delivery truck in Ironbridge has been reunited with his rightful owner.
The black and white moggy was found cowering on board the lorry as it arrived at The Swan on Wednesday.
Staff at the pub took a liking to the cat, gave him a home and named him Carlsberg after the load he had travelled with.
But after seeing his picture in the Shropshire Star, Jennie Harris from Broseley came forward to reclaim him - and reveal his real name as Boots. Miss Harris explained she lives next door to a pub so he must have climbed on board and travelled down the road to Ironbridge.
“He has always been adventurous and has probably used up quite a few of his nine lives,” she said.
After the cat had been missing a few days, Mrs Harris and her family, including her grandson, put up photographs around the village in a bid to find him.
Although Boots has never gone missing before, the lucky cat does climb through windows of houses and has even been found underneath floorboards.
“It was such a shock,” said Mrs Harris. “I don’t know how he survived, but he seems prouder than ever.”
Catherine Redgrave, a cleaner at the pub who gave Boots a temporary home, explained her two-year-old son got rather attached to the cat.
The family is now going to get a full-time moggy of their own.

It’s good to know that the kitty finally made it back to his rightful home. Hats off to the people of Ironbridge for looking after him.

I love cat stories, especially those with a happy ending. I got my cat last year from the R.S.P.C.A. and hope people will consider them when looking for a loving pet for their family
