Two people have been banned from pubs and clubs in Shrewsbury for two years by a group set up to reduce trouble in the town.
Pubwatch licensees barred them yesterday.
It follows a number of anti-social behaviour incidents in the town which were reported to the scheme.
Chairman Richard Goodchild said group members discussed the bans yesterday and their decision would be circulated to licensed premises involved in the scheme.
He said: “Two individuals are to be banned from Pubwatch premises in connection with anti-social behaviour in licensed premises. They will be banned for two years.”
The two people banned will now be informed of the Pubwatch decision.
Pubs across Shrewsbury and surrounding areas will then be notified and the names of the barred individuals circulated.
The Pubwatch group also welcomed the news that for another year running alcohol-related crimes have dropped within the river loop in relation to pubs and clubs.
A report by West Mercia Police on the effects of the Licensing Act 2003 shows longer opening hours at pubs and clubs have had little long-term effect on alcohol-related incidents in and around the the town.
Figures show crimes where alcohol is involved have increased - but could almost certainly be attributed to other factors including domestic violence and youth-related anti-social behaviour.

From what I have been told this morning by someone who should know a thing or two about licensing in Shropshire it will be a ban that leaves so many options open that it will be ‘just as hugely successful as an ASBO’.
They have been banned from pubs and clubs in shrewsbury, how simple can that be ?.
yes they can get booze from else where but they will not be in the pubs or clubs thats the main point.
NAME THEM!! SHAME THEM!!
I’m sure that the good people of Shrewsbury wish it was as simple as that - sadly and in the real world these two people will be drinking in some pubs and clubs in the town by as early as this evening.
Good on you Devil - The person of true commitment that you are. I have followed you comments often in this arena and consistently applaud your views.
