Town catwalk creating a stir

fashion-show.jpgCatwalk chic is creating a stir at Telford Shopping Centre as it hosts its own fashion week. Regular shows by professional models are proving a massive hit with shoppers.

Models of all ages are donning must-haves from a string of leading High Street names for the style event.

The shows, staged at regular intervals each day this week, will run until today.

Teams from Debenhams, Boots and House of Fraser are also carrying out makeovers in the centre, giving volunteers a new look.

Several winter wardrobe essentials are being featured including evening wear, coats, block colours and metallics.

Sally Mansell, who has styled the shows, said it had been very exciting working with the High Street favourites to put the various stories and looks together.

“It’s been great fun and we have got something for everyone in the show,” she added.

“There are looks to suit all ages and we have a number of children who are taking part in the catwalk shows.”

And the fashion week has been given a resounding thumbs up by visitors to the centre, with crowds gathering at each show.

Lisa Mountford, 29, from Wellington said: “I love to shop in so many of these stores but it does give you some inspiration to see the clothes modelled like this.”

I don’t know about a hit - they’re certainly a nuisance for shoppers. I had to go to the Post Office the other day and had to battle my way through a crowd of chavs staring open-mouthed at this vacuous nonsense.

I must disagree with both Peter and Alan.
It’s good to have events going on rather than the Town Centre just being a boring shopping centre.

Theres hardly any big event things that happen - Surely you can put up with it for once week, Or even A day if you only go there once a week.

Seriously, stop ruining the little fun left.
