Search for quad chase rider

Police were today hunting a quad bike rider who failed to stop for officers in pursuit.

The red quad bike was spotted on Oakengates Road in Donnington at about 11.10am but despite attempts to stop the rider, he managed to escape.

The man, in his early 20s, left the road in the Muxton area, where he was being tracked by the force helicopter.

Chris Ammond, spokesman for Telford police said: “Officers were investigating a quad bike which failed to stop and went off road which means we were unable to pursue it off the highway with a patrol car.”

OK, the police cars couldn’t track this quad bike off-road. But why couldn’t the police helicopter? I’ve seen Road Wars and pursuits continue off road once the Thames Valley Police chopper is in the air.

get real Harold, how much to launch a helicopter? for what a bike that hasn’t stopped?

and what would the pilot do, swing low and fire a few rockets like a bond movie?
