Meal on Wheels handover

Ken Nadal, of High Street, Wellington, lent us this photo and tells us: “It was taken in about 1970 in Wellington, with Councillor Mrs Davidson handing over a new ‘Meals on Wheels’ van.

“The cost was raised by Doug Vaughan, far left, proprietor of Quality Press.

“He organised dances and concerts and so on, and also appealed for donations in his weekly publication the Quality Advertiser.”
