The mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Marie Glaze, will not face an investigation by the Standards Board of England over a complaint that she obtained free admission to the town’s food festival.
She was reported to the Standards Board by Ludlow Food Festival chairman Phil Maile.
He complained she had twice gained entry to the town’s food festival without paying, even though she has a £3,000 mayoral budget. Her £12 admission fees were later paid by political ally Councillor Mickey Bradley.
Mr Maile reported her and said it was wrong that she should have used her public office for private gain.
Today the Standards Board for England said it would not take the matter further.
Communications adviser Joanne Sheppard said: “Based on the information provided, it was considered that any potential breach of the code of conduct would be insufficiently serious to justify a publicly-funded investigation.
“This does not indicate any judgement on whether or not the code was breached, just that we will not be referring the allegations for investigation.”
It is the third time that Councillor Glaze has been the subject of a complaint since May. The board has declined to investigate.

Not exactly watergate is it - slow news day?
Why is it £12.00 to get into a food festival.I have been to several different ones in Wales which where very good and with no charge for entry.
The sooner they centralise local goverment the better, we pay so much tax for what?
How much longer has the town to be “led” by someone held in such low esteem by so many in Ludlow? Anyone who has attended recent Council meetings will have realised that what we need is a strong leader with vision and integrity. What we’ve got is Marie Glaze. If she’s any shred of decency left she would step down.
Don’t hold your breath.
Wendy, it’s not £12 to get into the Festival. It ranges from £5 to £6 depending on the say. But the Mayor got in twice for free.
Of course, if she had given some support to the Festival instead of criticising, she would have been invited to attend in some capacity.
wendy, ludlow festival should be the same as the ones you have been to, FREE, theres poeple in ludlow trying to get rich fast, in ludlow you get nothing for FREE, when some of us councillors try to get you some thing for free, we are called trouble makers,
