Distance: Two-and-a-half miles.
Terrain: Easy walking on forest tracks.
1. Start at the Forestry Commission car park on the road to Upton Magna, south of the B5062. In the corner of the car park, next to the disabled parking area, locate the path by a marker post with three coloured rings. Follow this through the wood until it crosses a stream.
2. Continue ahead on the blue/red route until emerging from the woods on to a broad track.
3. Turn left towards the Wrekin and continue past open fields on the left until the route bears right back into the wood.
4.Bear right at a junction and continue ahead on the blue-only route which then turns left off the track and down a path.
5. On reaching a grassy knoll topped by a trig point, bear left down a path through the trees, turning right at the end after investigating the view ahead which takes in a wide panorama of the surrounding countryside.
6. Turn left, then immediately right, and right again by the picnic area, and walk through the wood to a track before turning right in a clearing.
7. At the next junction turn left to rejoin the red route, and left again on to the yellow route. Follow the multi-coloured marker posts back to the car park.
