Here’s another picture to get you into the mood for the village history exhibition being held at Ruyton-XI-Towns over the weekend.
It shows a Victorian wedding tableau as part of a children’s fancy dress competition at a fete held at Ruyton Hall in about 1951.
From left: Gwenda Moseley, Patricia Lloyd, Colin Estrey, John Richards and Christine Jones (bride and groom), Bill Whitelaw, Eric Whitelaw, Dorothy Birch, and Doreen Littlehales.
This, together with many more photographs, and the launch of a pictorial history of the village, will be part of the exhibition in the village hall from 10.30am to 4.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
There is also a visit from the girls of Ruyton School Choir from Melbourne, Australia - that school is named after Shropshire’s Ruyton.
