Does stripping attract criminals?

lap1tm.jpgWellington now has a lap dancing club. The lovely market town that many of us like so much is to become the centre of decadence in Shropshire.

Making money is the driving factor and overrides decency and basic Christian standards.

No wonder God is withdrawing his blessing from the British people.

There are apparently to be private dances for those who can pay the extra.

It is also reported that hen parties and stag nights will be encouraged - TV has shown us how young people at these events, fuelled by alcohol, can make foolish examples of themselves.

Are the hens to be titillated by male strippers as well as the stags by female ones?

Lapdancing is another name for female stripping and is demeaning to the female sex - exploiting their sexual attributes for money.

It is also contrary to the laws of the one true God, as well as the gods of most other religions, and will bring its own punishment.

Without payment most females would not become involved.

Stripping always attracts the wrong sort of people such as pimps and criminals. They follow it around like day follows night.

Roger Aveley speaks against it but Rosemary Smith of the Wellington Partnership is reported to be in favour. Does she not have any respect for people of the same sex?

Well, she has lost my support for the Wellington Partnership, and I for one will not be going into Wellington centre at night.

Stripping exploits the men not the woman. Religion promotes and causes wars around the world and real devisions in our country.
Keep the stripper and get rid of the vicars and the word will be a safer and happier place.

Mary Magdalene was a prostitute and Jesus loved her. I’m sure he can forgive the humble lapdancer.
If the women are stupid enough to accept money for their dignity, and the men are stupid enough to pay them…. let them get on with it.
The bible would have us believe that women are prostitutes and temptresses. That book is far more demeaning to women than earning a few quid from gods given body.

What makes you say that? Did he tell you?

“It is also contrary to the laws of the one true God, as well as the gods of most other religions, and will bring its own punishment.”

What laws are these and who will be punished and for what exactly?

Very, very stereotypical of your Richard. I have been once in a club in Sheffield for a mates birthday, had a few drinks, got my mate a lap dance and everyone left happy. Including the lap dancer, we had a good conversation with her.

You either like it or you dont, if you like it go. If not either give it a try or stay away and leave the people who do to it.

I have no strong feelings for or against a lap dancing club, strip club or for that matter even a massage parlour so long as it is all enjoyed by consenting adults.

What intrigues me however is the hang up that religious people clearly have over sex. Richard Camp clearly eludes to this in his letter. These people also haunt late night radio stations where their religious bigotry concerning sexual matters abounds.

There have been many cases in the past where people have been seen to condemn these type of places only to be caught with their pants down, literally, later on.

Its all about the money. And if paying a young girl to dance naked for you is ok then why not allow the next step? after all its two consenting adults? so the slide begins and in 20 or 30 years time, when a new generation of kids has been brought up with these kind of flexible morals what will the supporters of these clubs be saying then? asking the governement to do something about it?

I concur with Mr North, there is always the holier than thou crowd, we’ve seen it in public/press all too often, one minute people trying to take the moral high ground and the next minute being exposed as some sort of alleged office sex-pest or having a some sort of secret life. Live and let live.Personally I have prefer to live in a house without windows!!!!

Just like the song…”i dont see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind” and that was written by a god fearing christian, now if he can find it in his forgiving heart to be cool with this then i dont see why you cant get with the program, Mr Camp !

Why should we have ‘Christian values’? Has the contributor not heard that there is more than one religion? I bet Wellington Partnership are heartbroken with the withdrawl of support, you never know they may have gained more supporters than they have lost over this issu, and how does Richard Camp know that God is withdrawing his blessing from the British public is it via some hot line, and isn’t it somewhat presumptious that God is a he? Don’t believe everything you read in books,I’ve recently learnt that Paddington Bear and Snow White aren’t real characters……sorry kids…..

I don’t see that there is anything wrong, as said above Mary Magdaline was supposedly a prostitute however she was just jesus’ companion.

If the girls choose this as their career then that is fine, to me the poeple that moan about it are generally jealous and they should start to focus on their own lives as opposed to someone else’s or are their lives not interesting enough!

    Louise,

Realy, some “career” - is that what it is.?
Why would a man, and presumably Richard Camp is a man, be jealous of a girl stripping off. Please be tactful and diplomatic in your reply or it may not be published. I wait with baited breath.
