Distance: Two-and-a-half miles.
1. Start from the small layby on the side of Lilleshall Hill at the end of St Michael’s Close, near the church. Take path to the left of the lane and walk in direction of the monument.
2. Carry on ahead along the hillside then drop down to a lane. Cross over and walk to a narrow signposted path to a stile leading into the school field.
Cross this and walk half left to another stile on to a lane.
3. Cross over and carry on straight ahead over the next field to a narrow path which runs between houses and out on to the road. Turn left then right down Willowmoor Lane, as far as canal bridge.
4. The path to the left goes to old limestone quarries but we turn right along the edge of the field to follow its course to its junction with the main canal.
Follow the path into a wood and then cross a stile at the far end of the field.
5. Cross another stile with a pool on the right, and bear right to another stile. Cross this and turn left uphill to a stile to the right of a house. Cross this and turn right along the drive to its junction with a farm lane.
6. Turn right along this to a T-junction with the main road through the village. Turn left, past cricket ground, as far as a footpath sign on the right.
7. Cross the stile into a field and follow its left-hand boundary behind houses before following a fenced path on to the lane. Turn left and walk back to car park.
