Two schoolgirls were slashed across the face by a teenager carrying a knife, police said today.
Officers are linking the two incidents in Madeley and have launched an appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.
Police were called to Park Street at 3.10pm yesterday following a report that a 13-year-old girl had been attacked by another girl with a knife.
Sarah Warren, spokeswoman for Telford Police, said: “The teenager reports that she was walking in Park Street when she was approached by an unknown female who slashed her twice to the side of her face.
“She screamed and the female ran from the scene. Fortunately, she did not sustain any serious injuries.”
Fifteen minutes later, police received a report that a 12-year-old girl had been injured by a girl fitting the description from the earlier incident.
Miss Warren said the incident took place in Victoria Road. She added: “Again, she did not suffer serious injuries.”
The attacker is described as white, aged 16-17, about 5ft 1in, with a chubby face and brown hair with highlights. She had a piercing above her top lip and was wearing a black jacket similar to a school blazer.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the incidents to call on 08457 444888.
