Man’s jewellery taken in robbery

A Telford man was threatened with a knife by robbers who stole more than £1,700 worth of jewellery and mobile phones.

The 21-year-old was robbed as he walked alone on Old Park Way, Old Park, near the Thomas Telford School, at about 7.20pm on Friday.

He heard the men approach him from behind and demand his money. He turned around and saw one of the men holding a knife.

Fearing the men were going to attack him, he handed over £50 in cash. The two robbers then demanded other property and the victim gave them his watch, dog tags and two mobile phones.

Police said the 21-year-old was unhurt but was left shaken. The £800 watch is described as a Gucci, with a brown leather strap and a white rectangular face.

The silver Gucci dog tags, were worth £270 and the two mobile phones were a black Samsung E900 and a black Samsung D600, worth about £650 in total.

The man carrying the knife is described as being about 28-30 years old, 6ft 2in tall, of stocky build, with shaved hair and a chubby face. The second robber was of mixed race, about 17-18 years old, approximately 5ft 11in tall, having a skinny build with short curly hair and facial hair on his top lip and chin.
