Distance: 3.5 miles.
Terrain: Easy walking on lanes, fieldpaths and canal towpath, with 10 stiles.
1. Start at or near the Horse and Jockey on the A41 in the village. Walk up the narrow lane at the side of the filling station and turn left on to the canal towpath.
2. Pass under the railway bridge and continue alongside the canal as far as Bridge 26.
Walk under it and climb a stile into the field. Bear half-right across this to a stile in the hedge. Cross this and the bridge and continue up the left-hand boundary of two fields until reaching another stile and and bridge in the hedge.
3. Cross these and walk up the centre of the narrow field, heading for a stile in the top-left corner which leads out on to a track which leads the the Land of Canaan.

Continue downhill past the hall and at the bottom turn right on to a farm track and continue ahead until it forks.
5. Turn left and cross the stile on the right opposite a bungalow. Walk half-left across the field to a stile, continue ahead to another stile and walk alongside the Willeymoor Lock Tavern and up the steps on to the canal towpath.
6. Turn right and walk back to Bridge 26, but this time cross over it and continue ahead over two stiles into a large undulating field. Walk to the far boundary; do not cross the stile but turn right along the hedge and follow this through a gate and a stile before passing a farm on the left.
7. In the next field head for the gate next to the railway bridge, pass through and continue ahead on the track which crosses the canal and continues back to the start.
