Distance: Three-and-a-half miles.

cheneylongville.jpg1. Start at the Onny Trail car park on north side of the road from the A49 to Cheney Longville, just to the north of Craven Arms.
Walk back to the car park entrance, turn right along the lane, and follow it for about three-quarters of a mile to Cheney Longville.

2. Walk through the village and, 50 yards after passing postbox on the left, turn left up the drive to Castle farm.

Continue past the farm entrance to a gate and stile, and then continue along a track to the next gate and stile.

3. Cross the latter and walk up the grassy bank ahead, making for the marker post on top, then pass to the left of an oak tree before bearing right down the bank to the next oak and continuing to a stile at the bottom.

4.

After crossing this and a small stream, walk to junction with a track. Turn right, take left fork at next junction, and through wood to join a lane at the top.

5. Turn left, then right at a T-junction, and continue down the hill and along the grassy track until reaching a bridge over railway trackbed.

6. Cross bridge, turn left down steps, turn left and follow old railway line over three stiles.
Bear left up a set of steps. Continue along left-hand field boundary on Onny Trail until it climbs again to rejoin the railway line.

7. Turn left and pass a pool on right, cross a stile then return to car park on the ridge above the cutting.
