Distance: Three-and-a-half miles.
1. Start at Castle Hotel and turn right into Welsh Street. Walk as far as some modern houses on left then turn left through a kissing gate.
2. Go just to the left by a ditch, and as you near houses turn right towards a stile in middle of the field, and on to another by a gate.
3. Go ahead to third stile and up middle of a field before turning slightly left up a bank by some trees and on to a stile in left-hand corner of field. You are then on a road.
4. Walk up to a corner and through a gate to the left. Keep the field edge to your left and, as it falls away, go on to a gateway. Go slightly left to another hedge and ahead to the next stile.
5.
6. As the slope gets less steep there is a gate ahead. Left through the gate. At a stream, turn left and go downstream, through gates to road and a bridge.
7. You can go up the lane to the town, or follow a valley reached through a stile. Take the track through several stiles to some mixed woodland with a gate and stile to your right.
8. Take neither; go up hill, passing an old quarry, and across a stile. Go ahead through fields, to a track.
9. Follow the track down to a stile by a gate and on to some houses. The track leads back to the town.
