AFC Telford United today unveiled a “double your money” deal that will see Capgemini continue as the club’s sponsors for another three years.
The global IT consultancy has penned a new contract with the Bucks that will mean the Capgemini name remaining on the club’s shirts as they enter the Blue Square North.
And chairman Lee Carter is delighted with the agreement, which he believes will give Telford a lift on and off the pitch.
“The club benefits from this and it’s a massive, massive boost - it’s effectively a double your money deal,” he revealed.
“The club has got a higher profile now than when we started three years ago, and we’ve proved to Capgemini that we mean what we say in terms of our commitment to our partnership with them and with the community.
“It brings stability and continuity and it’s probably one of the longest sponsorship deals in the club’s history.
“It does, of course, really help us with the budget for next season, but it’s not just about the financial side - it’s gone from a sponsorship partnership to a sponsorship friendship.”
The deal also sees Capgemini’s chief financial officer Ian Dosser remain as a member of the Bucks’ Board of directors.
“That was one of the things we asked to remain in place with this contract extension,” added Carter. “Ian has brought a lot of common sense to the football club and is a good member of the Board.”

Does that make it 20p a season?
I hope it is 20p!
We could buy slops new ground 20 times over!
The full article in last night’s paper is incorrect. The longest sponsorship of the old club was by Ironbridge Power Station, but in different guises - National Power, Eastern then TXU due to sales/re-branding - 6 years in all
Why Mr Telford, you appear to be confusing 20p with the 300 million pounds it would cost to build New Meadow 20 times over.
Not that it should worry you, I am sure your council would pay for it anyway.
well shrewsbury need loans and grants of the f.a to build the new meadow.
telford didn’t but look at us know were moving up we got a good team a fantastic board and gr8 players plus the fans are gr8 if u know wat a crowd looks like
