Two horses were shot and injured as they grazed in a field outside their owner’s Telford home.
The animals needed emergency veterinary treatment and a course of antibiotics after the pellet gun attack.
Rebecca Jones found Fee, who she has owned for 16 years, and Fern, a rescue pony she adopted 12 months ago, injured when she went to feed them at their field in Brick Kiln Lane, Lightmoor.
She said she thought the horses would be safe in a field so near to her home and she was now “on edge” about leaving them alone.
The mother-of-three said she was angry that someone could do something so awful to animals.
The younger animal had been shot twice and the older horse once.
“I can’t believe anyone could do such a thing. It’s awful. I went out to feed them and there was blood pouring out of the baby one’s side,” she said.
Anyone with any information about the attack, which happened on Saturday, between 10am and 9.20pm, is asked to contact Telford police on 08457 444888.

This is probably the work of teenagers who think its funny to shoot at people or anials, personally I think they are sick individuals,I cannot understand why anyone could hurt any animal.
It beggars belief !!!!
This is terrible and i think its about time that some thing is done about these sort of people.
Aye, but as usual in this stupid country, if they were caught, they would not be punished at all, they would simply be helped by all the do-gooders and given free outdoor pursuit trips.
Err, ban air weapons to under-21’s??
As this took place in Telford, I trust that the offenders, if caught and prosecuted, will be offered free mountain biking, rock climbing and archery to help them back into society. Or perhaps, horse riding.
Eye for an eye. Unfortunatley most of society doesn’t see it this way. The person/s who did this should be shot with a pellet gun and left in a field, bleeding for as long as these horses were. On the flip side of this, it just goes to show how loving and forgiving these magnificient creatures truly are. They just want to be loved and treated with respect - AND THEY SHOULD BE!
