Man, 26, attacked with bat

Thugs attacked a man in Telford with a baseball bat police said today.Sarah Warren, Telford police spokeswoman, said: “A 26-year-old man was approached by a group of four males who began to verbally abuse him.

“One of the group then hit him with what was described as a baseball bat, causing pain to his arm.

“After they had left, a man approached the victim to see if he was OK and waited with him for about 10 minutes. We are keen to trace this man as he may have information which will help with our inquiries.”

The attack happened on Sunday at about 3.50am, near to the Thomas Vale construction site in Limekiln Lane, Wellington.

The male who used the baseball bat is described as being of mixed race, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 6ins, of slim build and wearing a bright red hooded top. The other three were described as white males.

The four then left the scene in the direction of John Broad Avenue.
