My name is Mark Charlton and I live in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland. I have already booked my flight and ordered my tickets for Wembley on the internet. I was back for the Grimsby match and try to get back as often as possible. I will be going to the match with my girlfriend, three daughters and four mates.
Cheers
Mark Charlton
I’m currently living in Bahrain and won’t be able to get back for the final. I’m desperately trying to find out if the game is going to be carried by any of the satellite channels available locally. If anyone in this vicinity has any information on this then please let me know. Rest assured that I will be supporting the boys on their big day out and will be there in spirit if not in body. Come on You Blues!
I live and work in Qingdao, China and will be unable to get back for the final due to work commitments. As a lifelong supporter, I’m gutted to be missing this historic game. I don’t have access to satellite TV so I won’t be able to watch the game. Any suggestions?
I wish the team the very best of luck and I hope to be watching them play in League one the next time I’m back in the UK.
Currently enjoying the the rain in Shenzen Chian I have been following the progress through the web come the boy,s
GO SHREWSBURY!!
I in Maine, wont be able to make it but will try to listen. Used to attend games every saturday:)
All the best boys.
I live in Cowbridge, South Wales, and have supported Salop for 60 years. I was there with my brother,Roger Meredith(79) from Oswestry, for the last game at the Meadow against MK Dons and have booked tickets for Wembley. Having followed Salop through thin and thinner over all these years, let’s hope the halcyon days of Arthur Rowley are back once more. Roger had a trial for Shewsbury in the 1940’s and was later offered terms bu Burnley, then a First Division (now the Premiership) side, but a cartilage problem denied him the chance. Bristol Rovers are a good squad, but another striking performance from Andy Cooke should see us through.
I live in the United States and of course nobody has heard of Shrewsbury let alone knows where it is, so I follow the games alone. I was in a shop following the game last friday on my blackberry and let out an emphatic “YES” at full time, and drew some very strange looks for the fellow shoppers. As for the final, I will be alone again, following on the internet. Isn’t it a wonderful thing.
Columbus, Ohio, USA
I am currently living in Spain and have just booked my flight home to see the Shrews do Shropshire proud. Will be a great pleasure to be to see them win promotion. See you all Saturday. COME ON YOU BLUES !!
I have been a fan for more years than I can remember.met my mate T Thomas all those years ago at a Town game.I was over to see the last match at the meadow.,also the last playoff game.I returned to Canada last Thursday.Just booked me flight for this Thursday going with Tim and others by coach to Wembly.UP THE TOWN!!!
I moved out to Australia 6 years ago and always check on how the Town are getting on. Followed the game at 5.45am last Saturday morning on the BBC. Flight booked straight after the final whistle and will be there to support the town.
Come on Shrewsbury.
Although I now live in Las Vegas, and try to catch all the international rugby games on TV, I still follow the Blues, and see how they are faring. I would love to see them promoted and have no doubt that they will. If I can follow live action somewhere, maybe on the internet, I will be be there.
I’ll be listening to the game from Wollongong, Australia via: http://www.shrewsburytown.com
You can sign up and see highlights from previous games too.
I think this is the only listening option if overseas as no local radio station has broadcasting rights for the game.
Go the Shrews!
I live in Pattaya, Thailand and have been following the Town’s fortunes via the live match commentaries on Shrewsweb. Was not planning to return to England until August to renew visa and take in first game at The New Meadow but i cannot resist seeing the boys at New Wembley. So i have booked my flight home and feel as excited as a kid on christmas eve!!. Just hope we don’t get any loan signings this week!! see you at Wembley.
i live and work in houston texas , with fellow salopians mark abley and james hampson , unfortunately mark and i have already made trips this year to say goodbye to the old meadow so we wont be able to get back , but i have just found out the game is on setanta sports , so we will watch in a local english bar , hopefully toasting success , c’mon salop
I live in Dubai but originate from Wem plus I lived in West Felton for 10 years. I have been a life long supporter of STFC and I do manage to catch some games on occasional trips to the UK. I listen to the commentry of all the games on the internet but I am coming home for the big one flying in on Friday returning on Sunday.
I am taking my 74yr old father with me (Bill Bamford) from Wem to return the favor for taking me to Wembley for the first time well over 30 yrs ago when he took me to Wembley to see Telford Utd play Hillingdon in the FA trophy final.
He actually supports Wem Town and Shawbury watching them at Wem Sports ground.
Best Regards, Tim Bamford, “dubaishrew”
Sadly working policing the good people of south london, but willing the Shrews on from Brixton police station. Good luck boys !
C/ Inspector John Duffy
I am from Bayston Hill and now live in Dubai. Outstanding year for footie in the town, I am sure they will do us proud…
Pity I can’t be there to celebrate with a pint in the Three Fishes COME ON SHREWS!
I feel humble just reading the comments above and to see where people are coming from for this match. I only live in Nottingham but have been a lifelong supporter of Town and look for their result before anyone elses. I have my tickets for Wembley booked via the internet and my train tickets arrived by post just a few moments ago. What a memorable occasion this is, if only my dad, Syd Edge were still alive, we used to go to the matches from off the bread round on saturday afternoons and then finish work later, come on the Town lets get back where we really belong.
Yes I will be listening to the game on the internet as I was last Saturday morning in Palmerston North, New Zealand. I am from Market Drayton.
I was there in 1979 when we beat Man City, drew with Wolves at Molynoux in the quarter finals and was one of the first in the ground for the night we beat Exeter and won the Division 3 title.
Whilst the gay Meadow had its critics the ground has a great history but the times must change and with a new ground and new division to play in the Town can look to the future. I miss the hot Bovril !!
I feel so much better now after having to watch an ignorant NZ football show which laughed at us when we were relegated in 2003.
Good luck to the boys this week from the land where football is the other sport !!! My dream for this year was to see the Town get promoted and the All Blacks to win the world cup of rugby.
So pleased for the Shrews. I was following Fridays game on the internet. Hopefully we will be able to listen to the Wembley game on the World service. My brothers are avid Shrewsbury fans and will be at the game so I will be waiting to hear all the excitement.
I live near Athens, Georgia, USA
My Farther in law lives in Benitachel in Spain he is a big fan of Shrewsbury town as he lived here for years,we have sent him last weeks paper and will be sending him this weeks as he is going to frame some of the pics,he is over the moon ar how they have done,so come on Shrewsbury give my farther in law Alan Mowl something to shout about on Saturday.

my dad will be there season ticket holder ray jex wish the blues all the best COME ON YOU BLUES FROM GRAHAM JEX SPAIN
I managed to find a bar showing the semi finals in Reykjavík, Iceland where I now live. The bar staff looked a little confused as to why I wanted them to put Shrewsbury on though. Been following the rest of the season listening on the web.
I’ll be making the trip to Wembley this weekend.
I am out here in Western Siberia! I won’t be able to make it but was thrilled about the victory over the MK Dons and will be checking out the big one on the internet.
I am originally from Whitchurch with grandparents who lived in Shrewsbury. I now follow the Town from Houston Texas and will be flying over for the match and meeting my brother who is coming in from Edmonton Canada. Each Saturday we follow Shrewsbury Town and then phone one another after the results to talk about the Town’s latest adventure. We have had difficulty in securing tickets for the match as TicketZone will only deliver to UK addresses and clearly this is not going to work for us. So if anyone wants to buy two extra tix and meet us outside Wembley we will be only too happy to meet you! And refund you of course!
In response to Aidy Tanner. Look at
Watchlivefootball.com
I watched the first leg over the internet. Not sure this is legal in the UK however.
Off to block 508 myself.
I remember beating BR in Bath to get to Wembley in 96(?).
For me it is a home game on Saturday as I live in London!!
I am so excited that Shrewsbury are off to Wembley. I live in Portland Oregon so not able to visit for this one but my 74 year old mum and step dad have got their tickets. I am so jealous and proud at the same time. Will follow on the internet if fox sports is not showing on cable tv. I spent many happy hours at games as a teenager and going to the Wakeman we saw the team alot! All the best Town.
I’m in Tampa, Florida and have spent a lot of time figuring out how to watch the match live! It seems Setanta are screening it live 9.30am (EST) on Setanta Broadband 2. Not sure if sports bars can obtain this!?
Anyway, gald to hear we’re wearing our away strip and like at the Britannia I’ve good great vibes..
I’m in Vancouver desparately trying to find somewhere that is both open at 7am and willing to show the mighty Town in action. Failing this I’m going to log onto
http://www.live-footy.org and hope that it’s on that.
I will be (hopefully) watching the game on TV in Dubai.
I will be home on summer leave in August and will make the first home game at The New Meadow! With a bit of luck it will be a Division 1 game. Up the Town!
I wish the very best of luck to the “Town” from New Zealand, being unable to make the journey from this far flung part of the world, however I will be able to listen to the match via the net, thanks to BBC Radio Shropshire. Hopefully I will be able to watch the match on video later thanks to a friend in Shrewsbury, and then I will be able to drool over the win.
UP THE TOWN - THIS IS YOUR DAY
Good luck Shrewsbury Town !!!
All the best from New South Wales, Australia.

I have supported “The Town” for the past 65 years, now being 74yrs old. I will listen to the match from Perth, Western Australia via the internet, thanks to Radio Shropshire. In the distant past I was treasurer of the “Floodlight Fund” as a member of the supporters club.
Oh what memories! I wish the Town all the very best and trust that next season I will follow their fortunes in Division 1. they deserve it. “Go The Town”.
Go Shrews….Thinking of you and wishing you the very best. Good Luck
As I am writing this the lads must be about to head onto the turf at wembley and i am hoping for the result that will put us in the first division, I will try and listen through the shrews web, or any other live streaming feed i can find here in Ontario, Canada,. good luck and have a magical time. wish I was home right now.. the family are all there .. I bet Wembley will be a momentous occasion for all town fans.. COME ON the Shrews.
Could David Pritchard - entry 25 be the other person in the picture I submitted for the competition for a Wembley photo. The picture is on your website and in the Shropshire Star showing someone from Houston, Texas with Steve Painter in the classic shirt of yesteryear. Please ask him if it is him.
To Dilys Powell (No.52) - the answer to your question is “Yes, it is … I should know, I’m his mum!” But maybe he will be able to reply himself, I’ll try to email him, OK?
Hello Dilys, indeed, that was me in the classic shirt of yesteryear. Wonderful to have been at the match and hard to believe that it was a week ago already. Looking forward to my next trip to Shrewsbury. All the best to all.
come on you blues , i am true salopian and still a supporter of shrewsbury town ,all the best CHERIE MICHAEL SCANE IN FRANCE
John reece from the Gold Coast in Australia saying what a great excuse to visit Shrewsbury and Wembley and watch the football team that has given so much pleasure and frustration over the years, I want another reason to come to the U.K. this season keep it in mind town, it doesn’t have to be wembley again, maintain or improve your league position to the end of the season. COME ON TOWN.
