Roadworks on a busy junction in Much Wenlock which caused a storm of controversy will start again on June 11.
Traders in the town were furious last year when a botched scheme to make the Gaskell Arms corner safer caused weeks of delays.
Now county council contractors will head back to the A458 junction on June 11 to do more work.
Sylvia Harrison, spokeswoman for Shropshire County Council, said: “The work is to adjust some kerb lines to make the passage through the junction easier for large vehicles.
“At the same time, Bridgnorth divisional office will undertake some remedial work to the surface at the junction with Sheinton Street.”
The work last September and October upset traders who claimed the inconvenience was turning visitors away from the town.
Engineers are having to go back to the junction because pedestrian islands installed last year were too big, meaning lorries found it difficult to negotiate.
County councillor for Much Wenlock, Dave Gibbon, said the project had been a nightmare for all concerned.
He said: “I know it is a bit of an embarrassment for the county council and others, and it is disappointing, but it has got to be done, so let’s get it over and done with.”
Councillor Gibbon said the work could take up to two weeks to complete.
He added he would arrange a meeting with worried residents.

Nice!!
So the focal point at the moment is climate change.
Every day it appears more and more pointless road works are popping up all over the place, and in some places bring the whole place to a complete holt!!!
So all these Road works and the increasing amount of traffic lights are good to the environment, all those cars sitting there idling!!!
We should do away with traffic lights!!! Holland switched all theirs off in an experiment to see if it reduced conjestion, they have not been switched back on!!!
I know i’m slightly going off the point, but traffic lights take the sence of responsibility from the driver…Telford never really had traffic lights….but since we now have them popping up everywhere…i find i’m now pulled out in front of more by idiots that are just not paying attention!!!
Scrap Traffic lights and Bill roadworks for the time they are there!!!
Andy
you could tell that the corner was too sharp and wouldn’t work when they were doing it. by the way, I and many others have been fined for doing 33-35 through the stetch just before there so a warning to all
To Charles, asI am subject to the dangers of speeding drivers around the village I disagree with your comments. Obviously you have never tried crossing the roads, risking your neck.
I suppose you were only a few miles and hour above the limit but
there is a 30mph speed limit on that stretch for a reason and all drivers should keep to that limit. If you break the limit you get fined, simple as that.We need more traffic cameras and deterents to make driving much safer in Shropshire.
Will keeping to thirty for 2-3 minutes really affect your journey?
