Although I don’t follow politics, I am vaguely aware that Tony Blair is standing down as Prime Minister, writes our Teen Blogger Rhian.
It’s a bit like an end of an era, but I must say I won’t be sad to see him go. I wonder where we’re headed now?
Think of all that has happened since Tony Blair came to power in 1997.
Our communications systems have improved, our ability to access information has also improved, we’re all about celebrities and consumerism which isn’t great but at least we’re not about communism.
We have global warming, but we throw away really cleverly designed machines just as carelessy as we do empty crisps packets and whilst we transport food for thousands of miles, rules and regulations often mean that much of it goes uneaten and discarded.
It’s a strange world, but one thing’s for sure - we’re not likely to get bored with it.

….AND BROWN IS COMING - WHATEVER NEXT ?
……the thing is Rhian we are all relatively free. I think kids throw away crisp packets more than adults but thats down to good parenting isnt it. What cleverly designed machines do we throw away? Regarding food being disgarded, do you mean hygiene laws?

Well, I think its really important that you do actually know about politics - especially when you will no doubt soon be of age where you can vote!
It may not seem important now but trust me when you start earning your own money and start paying extortionate levels of tax, you will soon find yourself familiarising yourself with politics!
Well Rhian, more has changed than what you’ve said. Since 1997, the world saw the death of Princess Diana, the entrance of a new millennium, the events of 9/11, the aftermath that followed including American and British soldiers being brought into Afghanistan and Iraq and so much more.
Hmmm…
We certainly are headed into a new era , perhaps a post-Post 9/11 world. With Britain’s new PM and the race to the US ‘08 election on the way as well as progress in China and the rest of the world, we have an idea of where we may go but certainly not an idea of where the best place is to go.
Hey, I’m a kid from America and I find it interesting how you guys “across the pond” think of these matters.
