Shropshire teenager Graham Kitchener will be heading Down Under this summer as part the England under-18s rugby squad jetting off to Australia for a development tour.The Adams Grammar School pupil, who is also on the books of Worcester Warriors, has been named in the 32-man squad for the trip.
The lock will now be hoping to be involved in the four games of the three-week tour, which includes a match against the Australian Schools at Ballymore in Brisbane on August 19.
Conor O’Shea, director of the RFU’s National Academy, said: “This is a tremendous development opportunity for some of our best young players.”
The squad is mainly made of players, including Kitchener, that helped England under-18s to Six Nations Festival victories over France, hosts Scotland and Ireland. Only defeat to Wales saw them fail to complete a clean sweep.
