Skipper ready for Baggies

Jody Craddock in action at LeicesterWolves skipper Jody Craddock believes his team’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Leicester will give them a big boost for the play-off semi-final clash with West Brom. The Black Country giants will clash over two legs to decide who reaches the play-off final and a shot at the £60 million cash windfall promotion would bring.

Craddock knows just what a big game it will be for the clubs and the fans.

“They are going to be massive games,” he said. “We know just what it’s going to mean to everyone which is why the hard work has to start now.

“The goals we have scored have set us up nicely but there’s a lot to be done.

“All credit to the lads for the job they did. We were a goal down early on but we went about our jobs in the right way and that paid off.”

Goal hero Michael Kightly was confident Wolves would secure a play-off place - even when he saw his side fall behind in the third minute.

The winger, on target at the Walkers Stadium, said: “We knew we had enough firepower in the team so we didn’t panic when we went a goal down.

“We came here feeling confident we could get a result and that didn’t change.”

Kightly conceded that confirmation of a place in the play-offs meant his expectations for the season had been exceeded.

He added: “I didn’t expect this when I firstÊcame to Molineux. But then we went on a good run. The fans have been behind us and we’ve kept it going. Now we’ve got to carry on that bit longer.”

He is also looking forward to the play-off clash with the Baggies, adding: “It’s the best game we could have had. “The atmosphere the last time we played them was terrific and this could be even better. We are not scared of anyone.”
