I live in Las Vegas, and am used to hearing such news in America. But to hear of this in my home town deeply shocks and saddens me. Please extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this heroic man.

Words cannot say it but as a serving Police Officer I can imagine what you thought.
Peace, calm and to try to talk and connect with your confrontation. You probably knew that ‘you were damned if you did’ and ‘damned if you did not’. But you tried and gave the man a chance.
Using an instinctive skill, this comes with experience and is not easily understood.
You were genuine and brave. Thoughts are with your family.

All hearts stopped for a second in Shrewsbury on Sunday, at the news that one of our brave Police Officers had been killed doing what he enjoyed doing, so much, protecting OTHERS LIVES and PROPERTY.
We are wanting to say words of comfort that will help his friends and family, but nothing can take the hurt away from them or this town at this very sad time. Shrewsbury want all PC Richard Gray’s family to know he has the greatest of respect of this town, and was a man of which they can be truly proud, and a great guy.

As a retired Detective I believe that legislation should be that all firearms should be removed from the UK. The Army & perhaps the Police should have them.
Domestic disputes are often charged with extreme emotions and potentially very dangerous.
PC Gray was but one of the thin blue line.

  23. Billy Reilly[cousin] said:
