Guided tour of enchanting home

The hall was built in 1834 as the home to Thomas Wilson, a great Victorian improver. In 1869 the hall was doubled in size by the Phelps family, who remained for four generations. Later the hall was owned by a chinchilla farmer and racehorse breeder, a wig maker and a reclusive millionairess, whose factories made guided missile systems.
