
With its deep Gothic eaves, the house is a dominant feature at Abbey-cwm-hir, where this small, enclosed valley seems to breathe history. Nearby are the ruins of a Cistercian abbey where Llewelyn the Last’s remains are claimed to be buried; there was a Cromwellian skirmish here too, and whispers that this was where King Arthur used to hang his hat.
