Ceremony marks gift of gardens

This photo has come from Mr F Horton, of Ellesmere, and shows Lord Brownlow, centre holding the flag, at the unveiling ceremony in 1956 which commemorated his gift of the Mere and Cremorne Gardens to the people of Ellesmere.

To Lord Brownlow’s right are Mr F Horton, Mrs S Smith, Alderman A H Jones, Miss Fell, Mr W N Fell, the Rev Stanley Lloyd and Mr N Jones.

To Lord Brownlow’s left are Major Keith Needham, Mr S Smith, Mr W H Davis and Mr G A Roberts.
