Newport have been promoted to the highest level of Midlands rugby after a thrilling play-off victory over Matlock.
The Fishes beat the Derbyshire side 20-5 at Forton Road on Saturday to book their place in Midlands One next season.
The match was watched by a massive and noisy crowd, who roared their side on to a 13-0 half-time lead, which was extended after the break.
Newport’s promotion gives Shropshire its first representative in Midlands One in two years, since the relegation of Whitchurch, who now play in North Two West.
