The Flower Pots in Frame Lane, Doseley, Telford has undergone a fantastic ten-month makeover which has dramatically transformed it from being a cramped five-bedroomed property into a stunning open-plan three bedroomed home.
Owned by Cheryl Summers and Jacqueline Lavelle, its contemporary interior was carefully planned by the pair and all the work has been done to the very highest of standards, involving great attention to detail.
A deceptively spacious home, from the outside you would never expect it to be as big as it is inside, or for it to have the wow factor interior that it definitely has.
The work involved knocking down interior walls, adding a conservatory, new kitchen and creating an open-plan first-floor bedroom suite with plenty of storage space, fitted wardrobes and an open-plan bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi bath and self-closing loo seat!
Cheryl owns and runs Vanessa’s Vans of Doseley and is also a keen property developer. The Flower Pots is the fifth home she has developed in six years.
As she and Jacqueline are now moving on to their next development project, they have put The Flower Pots, 16a Frame Lane, Doseley, up for sale through Nick Tart of Telford Town Centre for offers over £225,000.*
It has a refitted kitchen with fitted appliances, lounge (over 28ft), two conservatories, downstairs shower room and wc, downstairs double bedroom, two attic bedrooms (master with open-plan en suite), rear lawned garden with patio and front driveway with plenty of parking space.
When Cheryl first bought the house it had three bedrooms upstairs in the attic space and two downstairs bedrooms. One of the downstairs bedrooms was on an upper level. Its space now forms part of the lounge.
There was also a central entrance hallway between the original kitchen and the remaining front-facing double ground-floor bedroom.
Cheryl decided to knock the one entrance hall wall down in order to create a larger breakfast kitchen. She also knocked through a doorway at the end of the hall, replacing it with a larger opening into the lounge.
In the lounge another wall which had divided off the second ground-floor bedroom was removed. The conservatory was added.
Upstairs, two dividing walls were removed in order to make the open-plan master bedroom suite, while the third bedroom upstairs remains.
The new kitchen and en suite bathroom were fitted, floors were replaced with a good quality laminate or carpeting, designer radiators were installed and the entire house was redecorated.
Cheryl said her aim was for all of the interior space “to flow”.
She said: “I enjoy developing houses and I design a lot of interiors for friends. I didn’t realise I’d got a knack for it. When I first saw the house I would walk around it knowing what I wanted to do. The previous owners have been round and they were stunned.”
She and Jacqueline did all the work themselves apart from having help for the kitchen from plumbers and electricians.
“Jacqueline put a lot of input into the kitchen,” said Cheryl. This was after Cheryl just decided one night to rip the old kitchen out.
Jacqueline said: “I went to the shops and came back and had no kitchen left!”
As there had been a problem with the floor in the kitchen the pair ended up having to have it dug up and completely redone. In the master bedroom suite, they built the curved glass wall dividing the bathroom with the rest of the room themselves.
The front door opens directly into the gorgeous open-plan kitchen. This has a range of fitted units incorporating a central island with integrated hob, stainless steel oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
From a large opening to the rear of the kitchen is the smart lounge with feature contemporary fireplace. As the lounge is 28 ft, it could also incorporate a dining area.
A door to the right of the lounge opens to a pretty side conservatory. A further large opening to the rear of the lounge leads into the good-sized conservatory. This is currently being used as a dining room.
Back from the rear of the open-plan kitchen a corridor to the left has doors off to the downstairs shower room with double shower enclosure, wash hand basin and wc, and to the downstairs double bedroom, which is front facing.
A turned staircase then leads up to the two upstairs bedrooms. Off a small landing, a door opens to the smallest bedroom. This overlooks the rear and has eaves storage. You then walk straight into the stunning master bedroom suite with en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, sink and loo.
Jacqueline said: “Doseley is a nice area and the neighbours are lovely - they’ve been here for years. It’s very much got a village feel to it, with its own shop/post office and a couple of pubs.”
