Life at school a century ago

Here is what Shropshire schoolchildren looked like 100 years ago or more. These children were at St George’s School in Shrewsbury.

The date of the picture is unknown, but may be from about 1900.

The photo was loaned to us by Shrewsbury historian David Trumper, but comes from the collection of the late Miss Vera Dyer, and was loaned to Mr Trumper by her relatives Mr and Mrs John Watkins of Shrewsbury.
