Who remembers the old Plough Inn in Bridgnorth? Who can even say where it stood?
This picture dates from June 30, 1936, and is in the collection held by the Northgate Museum, Bridgnorth.
It has a note with it saying simply: “The old Plough Inn, demolished.”

The Plough Inn stood in Hospital St,Bridgnorth.
MY FATHER TOLD ME ONCE, WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER IN THE 1960′S, THAT A PUB CALLED THE PLOUGH STOOD ROUGHLY WHERE THE LOW TOWN TOILETS ARE TODAY, OPPOSITE THE FOX HOTEL. I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS FACT HAS STAYED IN MY MIND FOR ALL THESE YEARS BUT IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY THAT HE TOLD ME, AND HE HAS BEEN DEAD SINCE 1992. HE WAS FROM BERNARDS HILL, JUST OPPOSITE.
Who was the landlord and does anyone know any more history on this pub? It would be interesting to see who were the landlords.
