Hoaxers are believed to be responsible for putting what appeared to be a parking ticket on the windscreen of a police patrol car in Shrewsbury.
Pictures were sent to the Shropshire Star showing a Vauxhall Omega police car parked outside Adlards, in Shoplatch, on Tuesday with what was believed to have been a parking ticket under the windscreen wiper.
But ParkRight, the new organisation responsible for enforcing parking regulations, today said no traffic warden had issued a parking ticket to a police patrol car.
Police spokesman Richard Ewels said: “It appears to be a hoax. It was an empty ParkRight packet which had been ripped open with no ticket inside, which someone placed on the windscreen.”

Why should the police be above the law and not receive a ticket if they park illegaly. their cars also conbtribute to congestion.
was it a hoax or did the police have the parking ticket cancelled and this story has been released to save face?
I was a police officer for 12 years. I know that traffic wardens in difficulty rely on their colleagues - police officers - to protect them. If they went around putting parking tickets on marked police vehicles, they would lose any protection they presently enjoy.
Lol. We believe it serves them rite and who ever done it deserves congratulating!! anyway.. who likes them anyway? Do they ever do us any favours?.. No!!
