May 21, 1991: Formal launch of “Air 5″ at Halfpenny Green airfield. Five days a week operation of a Bolkow 105 DBS helicopter.
October 1991: Trial extended for another six months. Helicopter moved to a new base - RAF Cosford.
March 1993: Air 5 renamed “County Air Ambulance”.
May 1995: Operating hours extended to 10 hours a day, seven days a week.
March 2001: New hangar at Cosford.
May 2001: New state-of-the-art EC135 helicopter introduced - the first in England equipped as an air ambulance.
2007: Appeal launched for Flying Doctor to take on-board medical skills to new heights.
