Chance to shine for TV

Joe Hart and Gavin CadwalladerIt’s the last game of my one month loan spell at Tranmere tomorrow night - and we are all anxious to put on a show for the television cameras, writes ormer Shrews star Joe Hart.

Of course, having a game on Sky always generates a little more excitement and interest than usual but when the game kicks off nobody will be thinking about the watching television audience.

I’ve played in a live Sky game before for England under 18s and the cameras didn’t affect me in the slightest so I’m sure tomorrow will be the same.

I’ve had an enjoyable month at Tranmere and we have won two, drawn two and lost one going into tomorrow night.

The club are on the verge of the play-off places in League One, and three points at Gillingham will be well received.

We have done enough, in my opinion, to win the five games I’ve played in and ironically our best performance probably came in the 3-2 defeat against Bristol City. It’s always interesting to watch different managers in operation and I’ve been impressed with Ronnie Moore at Tranmere.

There’s no beating around the bush with Ronnie and he tells it as it is - but he also lets his players get on with it.

I’ve really enjoyed having a run of first-team games. It’s what every player wants and needs and I’ve had to sit patiently and wait for a while for that this season.

What will happen after tomorrow? Well, the honest answer is I’m not sure. I’d obviously enjoy having another run of games, whether it be at Tranmere or elsewhere.

But Manchester City will decide what is best for my development and that’s good enough for me.

While I’ve been at Tranmere I’ve also tried to maintain my relationships at City and have been popping back once or twice a week for training there.

Goalkeeping coaches like Tim Flowers don’t grow on trees so it’s always beneficial to work with people like that to maintain your improvement.

Back in Shropshire, it was disappointing to see Gavin Cadwallader and Marco Adaggio released from Shrewsbury this week.

I’m close friends with both my former Town youth team-mates and still keep in regular contact with them.

Gav actually came up to stay with me over the weekend and took in City’s 3-0 defeat against Blackburn on Saturday. I think they are both philosophical about what’s happened.

“They are good players and it’s just a case of things not working out for them this season. But they will bounce back and I’m sure we will see a lot more of thems over the next couple of years.
